Who brings this work

Managers of hotels, clinics, shops, schools, and associations in Thailand who already hold returned customer questionnaires and need the answers explained to the people who run the place.

What you leave with

A folio of drawn plates, a written reading of what the answers can and cannot support, and a sitting in which that reading is walked through with your team.

A two-hour sitting at our East Samwa office, or at your premises in Bangkok.

Inside the fee

• An intake conversation to name the decision the reading should inform
• A count of returned questionnaires against the number of people who could have answered
• A map of each closed question, drawn as a plate rather than left as a single average
• Comment cards for open answers, grouped into themes in the language they were written
• A written reading of roughly eight to fourteen pages, bound with the plates
• One two-hour sitting for up to eight people from your organisation
• A short letter the next working day noting any tally you asked to keep on file

Outside the fee

• Standing interviewers at your desk or designing a sampling plan for a future wave
• Printing or translating the original questionnaire
• A second wave, a competitor's survey, or a staff survey mixed into the same folio
• Legal advice, clinical judgement, or a promise that takings will move
• Redrawing the plates after the sitting because the decision changed

How the days run

1. Intake. We agree the decision, the audience, the languages on the form, and whether the pile is thick enough for the comparison you want. You receive a materials list the same day.
2. The packet. Questionnaires arrive as paper, or as a table with one row per person and the question wording in a separate sheet. We do not begin the clock until both are in the room.
3. Counting and cards. Closed questions are counted by hand against the wording on the form. Open answers are copied onto cards in the original language and grouped before any plate is drawn.
4. Plates and the written reading. Niran draws the plates. Anchalee writes the reading: what the pile supports, where it splits, and what it is too thin to say. You see neither as a surprise at the sitting; a draft folio arrives two days before.
5. The sitting. Two hours. The plates stand in the room. We read the findings in the order of your decision, and we stop when the room has a next step, even if the clock still has time.

What to send before we begin

• The blank questionnaire and any instruction the field staff were given
• Every returned form, including spoiled and half-blank ones
• The number of people who were offered a form, if you know it
• Who should be in the sitting, especially anyone who can change the thing the questions were about
• One sentence naming the decision you hope to leave with

Limits we will name at intake

• Thai and English are read in the house. Another language needs a translator you arrange, and the extra days are quoted before we open the packet.
• A wave much above 800 returned forms, or open comments above 400, moves the fee and the calendar. We say so at intake rather than halfway through the cards.
• We will decline a comparison the pile cannot carry, and we will tell you that before the deposit is spent on drawing.
• The reading describes patterns in the answers you collected. It is not a finding about a person named in a comment, and we will lift out names before the folio is bound.

The fee, in plain terms

64,000 THB covers one wave of up to 400 returned questionnaires, with open comments within that pile, in Thai, English, or both, the folio, and one sitting at our office. A sitting at your premises in Bangkok is an additional 6,500 THB. Travel outside Bangkok is quoted from the address and the day. A deposit of forty percent opens the reading period; the balance is due before the sitting.
